Movement, learning and play

Fantastic family fun at a farm that’s family-run!

The Play Barn at Round Meadows Farm is all about getting children moving, developing essential skills through play, and (most importantly) having a brilliant time!

The world can be a very big and busy place, and as mums and dads ourselves, we know that families need a place where everyone can focus on enjoying time together. A place where children are encouraged to tune out from digital distractions (no ipads in the play-frame!) and get back to the serious business of playing.

At The Play Barn, we’ve created a space that both kids and grown-ups can enjoy. While the children have a ball in the play area, the café is a beautifully bright, stylish space where you can sip tea, catch up with family and friends, and wave to your little ones before they zoom down the tunnel slide.

Created by completely renovating an old barn that’s been a staple on the property for years, The Play Barn is nestled amongst a bustling, family-run farm and equestrian arena. Based just outside Wetley Rocks, we’re lucky enough to enjoy panoramic views of the Staffordshire Moorland countryside – and so will you when you visit.

With fabulous on-site facilities, including a dedicated space for parties, The Play Barn is perfect for a family looking for a few hours of fantastic fun in a gorgeous, rural setting.

We’re less than 15 minutes from the centre of Stoke-on-Trent, so indulge in a quick countryside escape that kids and grown-ups alike are going to want to rush back to!

Who we are

Hi, we’re Luke and Georgina, the brother and sister duo behind The Play Barn. We know Round Meadows Farm very well; our family has lived here for generations!

We wanted to create a place where families can come and spend time together, and where children can run, jump and play in a space that feels like a really big adventure. As parents ourselves, we understand the importance of keeping kids entertained while making sure they’re getting the right amount of exercise and mental stimulation.

The Play Barn team is made up of friendly and dedicated members of staff who all work very hard to make sure our visitors have the very best experience.

The transformation of The Play Barn is partly funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

The expansion of the Baby and Toddler Playframe project is part funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund
